Repointing is needed when the mortar (concrete material within the joints) begins to crack and fail. Overtime, water can get inside the wall causing other problems and very costly repairs. The process of repointing includes removing the existing mortar and installing "pointing" new mortar in its place. Below are before, during, and after photos of a brick chimney that we repointed.
As well as repairing the joints, damaged bricks can also be replaced.
While not always the exact same process, we can repair other hardscapes including natural stone walls, block walls, and patios.
